The Nigerian Army Peacekeeping Centre (NAPKC) was presented with the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) Training Recognition Certificate for Pre – Deployment Training (PDT) on 15 July 2010.  The event took place at Nigeria’s Permanent Mission to the UN in New York.  The Training Recognition Certificate was presented by Ms Izumi Nakamitsu the Director, Policy Division, UN DPKO to Ambassador Joy Ogwu, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN.  The Ambassador in turn presented the Certificate to the Chief of Army Staff Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General AB Dambazau. The recognition followed two inspection visits by staff of the Integrated Training Service (ITS) of UN DPKO to NAPKC who adjudged the training to have met UN standards.   NAPKC is the first institution to receive the recognition for pre – deployment training.
